Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem)’s cement and clinker sales rose 7.88% from a year earlier to 17.35Mt in 2009, the corporation said on its website.

Of the sum, 17.13Mt were cement, up 14.6% YoY and 223,000t were clinker, down 80.49%, Vicem said.

The corporation produced 9.58Mt of clinker and 16.86Mt of cement last year, down 5.59% and up 12.32% on-year, respectively.

Vicem made a profit of VND2,134 billion on revenues of VND20.78 trillion, up 22.67% and 14.9% on-year, respectively.
