The Ukrtsement association reports that cement production in the Ukraine fell by 36.27% or 5.36Mt to 9.42Mt in 2009, the executive director of the association, Petro Lopatiev, told the Ukrainian News agency.

He said that in 2008, a total of 14.77Mt of cement were produced in Ukraine.

The executive director of the association also admitted that in 2010, housing construction will not start active development giving way to social construction.
