New Iran project to come on-stream

The Khuzestan Cement Company in southwestern Iran is set to inaugurate its new project on Wednesday.

The project would add 5500t to the country’s cement production capacity, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.

""Some 1,100 billion rials (approx $110 million) plus EUR39.6m has been invested in the project,"" IRIB quoted Khuzestan Cement Company’s Managing Director Morteza Lotfi as saying.

With over 2.5Mt of cement production capacity per year, Khuzestan is among the three biggest cement plants of the country.
