Vietnam is forecast to produce between 44Mt and 45.5Mt of cement this year, up 10.5% from a year earlier.

Of the sum, Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) will make 17Mt in 2009, the Ministry of Construction was quoted by the An ninh Thu do newspaper as saying Monday.

This is the first year Vietnam’s cement production has met the domestic demand, the ministry said.

The MoC forecast the country’s cement output will increase on-year between five and 7Mt in 2010.
