Cementos Lima launches operation hydropower plant
Peruvian cement maker Cementos Lima SA has launched the operation of its 220 MW El Platanal hydropower plant (HPP).
The HPP uses water resources from the Canete River and is located in the district of Lima, Cementos Lima said.
The energy will be supplied through the Chilca substation. The HPP is managed by Compania Electrica El Platanal (Celepsa), a subsidiary of Cementos Lima.
Cementos Lima approved on Tuesday the allocation of PEN54m (US$18.77m) to Celepsa to complete the works on the launch of the plant.
