Gresik Jan-Oct cement sales, steady versus 2008
PT Semen Gresik, Indonesia’s largest cement producer by volume, said Friday that its cement sales for January-October were steady from a year earlier at 14.62Mt.
The state-owned company added that its cement sales for October alone increased 14% to 1.65Mt from a year earlier, signaling a turnaround in cement demand.
The state-owned company said its cement exports fell to 580,602t during the January-October period from 872,869t a year earlier, but didn’t offer any explanation.
Total cement sales by all Indonesian producers during the first 10 months of the year slid 3.7% to 34.56Mt from 35.91Mt a year earlier, according to data from the Indonesian Cement Makers Association.
