The government of Ecuador has opposed a proposal from Portugal’s Cimpor to manage a plant in the Latin American country, Efe reported, citing comments by President Rafael Correa on Oct. 24.

Talks with Cimpor failed after the Portuguese cement company offered only $20.7 million for the Cemento Chimborazo plant, Ecuador’s Correa said, according to Efe.
