Clyde Process Solutions has won a UK£1.1m contract with one of the world’s leading cement producers in a deal which should pave the way for further orders from the sector.

The company, which supplies the steel, food and chemicals markets with pneumatic conveying systems, will supply an undisclosed cement plant in Eastern Europe with a pneumatic conveying system which will be used to transport fly ash.

Clyde said the cement sector represented a significant opportunity for the group and this new order would provide a basis for future growth.

Chief executive Alex Stewart said: "This is a significant order to have secured within the European cement market and from one of the world’s leading cement producers.

"The order, which is our first fly ash pneumatic conveying project for the cement industry, will form the launch pad for sales to the cement industry."
