Angolan government approves new plant project

The Angolan government has approved a private investment project under the name of “SLN – Benguela cement and clinker factory,” which has a value of US$240m, according to Angolan news agency Angop.

The project’s promoters are Portuguese company Sociedade Lusa de Negócios (SLN) – Internacional, Tecnoimóvel Limitada (an Angolan company) and Caixa de Segurança Social das Forças Armadas Angolanas, according to a statement from the meeting of the Government’s collective body.

Located in the town of Benguela, the project should be completed within five years and a training programme and the creation of 240 jobs, 210 of which will be for Angolans, are planned.
