New Angola cement plant starts operation by 2012

The construction works of cement factory underway in the Cuacra locality, Sumbe district, coastal Kwanza Sul province, are scheduled to end in 2012, announced Tuesday the chairperson of the board of directors João Marcos Sassa.
 
The official was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the meeting that  gathered the factory’s managing board and the building and supervising  companies of the work, during which they analysed the execution of the construction project of the infrastructure, started last year.
 
The official mentioned the construction, at this moment, of the infrastructural ground of the building that will support all equipments, expected to arrive soon in the country.
 
The works are entrusted to the construction company ETA Star, from Dubai, and supervised by the Angolan firm JVT.
 
Designed with an installed capacity of production of 1.2Mta, the project is estimated at US$600m and is funded by Sonangol and the Angolan  Ministry of Industry.
