The Ministry of Transport is facilitating the construction of an import facility on the Aflao border by the Diamond Cement Company to reduce the transport cost of clinker from Lome to Ghana.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Dzifa Aku Ativor led a delegation of Ports Civil Engineers from her Ministry and officials of the Ghana Shipper’s Council to inspect the project site at Aflao.

She said the necessary documentation and support will be offered to ensure that the project materialises.

She told Radio Ghana that apart from creating job opportunities for the youth in the Volta Region, the project will also reduce transport cost of clinker to the Diamond Cement Company.
