Lucky Cement has posted PKR4.596bn net profit in financial year 2008-09 over PKR2.677bn recorded in the previous year, depicting 72 per cent growth. According to a notice of the Karachi Stock Exchange on Wednesday, earnings per share (eps) of the company also rose to PKR14.21 in the year under review as against PKR9.84 a year ago.

The company registered record gross sales revenue of PKR30.915 billion, which is 48 per cent higher than the last year whereas net sales also recorded increase of 55 percent to PKR26.330bn as compared with previous year’s figure of PKR16.957bn.

During the year under review, the cost of sales in terms of absolute value increased by 31 per cent whereas cost of per tonne increased 23 per cent as compared to the same period of last year.
