The National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) announced that domestic cement production reached 734.62Mt in the first half year, increasing by 14.9 per cent on a YoY basis. A statement released on its website said the growth rate was 6.2 per cent higher than the same period of last year.
 
In the first six months, cement prices saw a decrease trend all over China. In June, the average price of key monitored cement enterprises was CNY289/t, CNY16 lower than in May.
 
In the first five months, China’s building materials industry realised profits of CNY41.9bn, up 13.7 per cent YoY. The profits of the cement industry increased by 21 per cent to CNY10.3bn.
