SCG Cement, a unit of Siam Cement PCL expects revenue to fall 15% this year because of a delay in government infrastructure projects, the Bangkok Post reported Thursday.

Proposed megprojects by the government, if they get off the ground, would be launched too late to lift already weak cement demand, the company’s marketing director Syamrath Suthanukul was quoted as saying.

Syamrath said domestic cement demand fell 10% during the first five months of the year, adding that revenue could drop 15% for the full year from THB50bn (US$1.5bn) in 2008, the newspaper said.
