According to the report, in March alone, the cement output in the country rose 10.09%YoYr to 122.07Mt. The growth rate is 16.21 percentage points lower than a year ago.
Cement output in Southwest China, which had been greatly hit by the earthquake last year, surged 36.2% from a year ago to 16.8Mt in March. However, the East China region saw its cement output decreased 2.96% to 44.6Mt during the month.
Analysts said China’s cement output in 2009 is expected to amount to 1.59bnt up by 14.8% from a year earlier. However, since the domestic cement demand is weakening, the country’s cement industry may still remain gloomy.
