Dangote investment in Benue cement update

In its bid to boost the production capacity of the Benue Cement Company Plc, BCC, after acquiring majority stake in the firm, the Dangote Group has invested over US$500m to position the company to meet the challenge of increasing demand for cement in the country. 
 


The investment has invariably enhanced the production capacity of the company from its initial installed capacity of 900,000t to about 2Mta production capacity.
 


The message was conveyed by the president, Dangote Group and chairman of the Benue Cement Company Plc Gboko, Alhaji Aliko Dangote at the commissioning of various school projects constructed by the firm for its host communities at Mbayion, Yandev and Ipav in Gboko local government area of Benue State.



 
Represented by the chief operating officer of Dangote Cement, Engr Joe Makoju, Alhaji Dangote noted that the Dangote conglomerate was determined to hit the 3Mta capacity mark in not too distant future given the further investments and de-bottlenecking strategy put in place by the group to enhance production at the plant.
