Mainland China’s second-largest cement producer, China National Building Material Group Corp (CMBM), parent of China National Building Material Co Ltd plans to enlarge its cement production capacity to 300Mt in the next three years, said company director Song Zhiping yesterday at the 2009 China International Cement Conference, sources reported. CNBM’s subsidiary South Cement Co Ltd will realize a production capacity of 150Mt.

CNBM will output 100Mt of cement in Huaihai Economic Zone and 50Mt of cement in Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Province, Liaoning Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Song said the company will try to unite its cement enterprises in China and control the regional market. These moves also aim to improve the company’s profitability and enhance its competitive strength, he added.
