Dalmia Cement (Bharat) confirmed it will be increasing its production capacity from the present 3.5Mt to about 9Mta before the end of this calendar year.

T Venkatesan, CEO, announced the launch of production at the company’s 2.5Mt greenfield project at Chinnakomerla in the  Kadapa district. He said another 2.5Mt greenfield unit at Ariyalur in Tamil Nadu would be commissioned by mid-2009.

The company already has a 3.5Mt unit at Dalmiapuram near Tiruchi in Tamil Nadu, the capacity of which is said to be increased to 4Mt.
