Libya to construct EUR116m cement plant in Sebha

Work will start on the construction of "Fezzan Gara Mahrou gha" cement plant in Sebha, in the southern part of Libya in the next few days, promoters of the project told PANA Sunday.

According to the promoters, the plant would be constructed on an area of 600 hectares, with a capacity of1Mta of cement.

They said the project was funded by the Libyan Economic Development Fund and production was expected to start in 2010.

Libya in 2008 signed contracts with several foreign companies for the construction of cement production plants in many regions of the country.
