Sudan: Al-Bashir inaugurates cement factory in northern state
President Al-Bashir graced the opening ceremony of Peace Cement Factory Atbara town of River Nile State on 25 January 2009.
Sudan TV at 0700 gmt broadcast live the arrival of the President Al-Bashir at Atbara Airstrip where he was received by the state governor.
The president then inaugurated the factory after which the programme of the ceremony continued.
The occasion was also addressed by senior Sudanese officials. Ahmad Majdub Ahmad the state governor briefed the attendants about the state’s economic development and thanked the president for supporting state’s developmental projects.
The minister of industry, Jalal Yusuf Al-Diqayr, also commented about the history of cement industry in the state and how the government supported the Peace Cement Factory project.
The president and his entourage then left for Al-Damir locality still in River Nile State. Published under Cement News
