Cement production in Azerbaijan reached 1.601Mt in January-December 2008, down 5.3% from January-December 2007; AzerPress reported citing figures from the state statistics committee.

Garadagh Cement is the principal producer of cement in Azerbaijan; it produces 1-1.4Mta meeting 50 per cent of  total domestic demand while the rest is imported.
