Authorities in the northern Ninh Binh province, Vietnam have requested Phu Son Cement Joint Stock Company to speed up the construction pace of its VND3 trillion cement project, or else they will revoke the license, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te newspaper reported.

The large cement project has reported to have now lagged one year behind schedule, the newspaper said.

The Phu Son cement plant, set to have an annual capacity of 1.2Mt of cement, was approved in 2007.

The project had been scheduled to be completed in October 2010 and to be officially put into operation in January 2011.
