Panama: high price of cement

Panama: high price of cement
19 December 2008

Constructors have two reasons to worry, according to the Panama Star. Next year the sector will not register the same growth rate of recent years and they will have to deal with the high priced cement. Walter Medrano, president of the Panamanian Chamber of Construction, CAPAC, hopes that the price will go down now that oil prices have decreased significantly, seeing as the recent price hike to more than seven dollars a sack was justified with the high fuel costs.

"Nowadays," Medrano exclaimed, "this argument has lost its value."
