Vietnam cement sales to hit 41Mt in 2008
Vietnam cement sales will reach 4Mn December, up 10%-12% on-year, bringing the total figure to 40-41Mt in 2008, according to the Ministry of Construction.
Cement sales reached 35.6Mt in the first 11 months, representing 89.1% of the yearly target, the ministry said.
In the 11-month period, clinker imports were reported at 3.2Mt, representing 91.4% of the year’s target.
The ministry said earlier that Vietnam will export cement from 2010 as the country is forecast to see oversupply of 5Mt by the year. Published under Cement News
