Lithuania’s only cement manufacturer Akmenes Cementas said on Friday that its sales revenue for the first nine months of this year jumped by 29 per cent YoY to LTL232m (EUR 67.2m). However, monthly sales for September fell by seven per cent from a year earlier to LTL26m.

"The general crisis in the construction market is having an impact on the cement market as well. Construction declined in September, bringing down the company’s sales and revenue," Akmenes Cementas’ public relations officer, Richardas Sudaris, told BNS.

Year-on-year, Akmenes Cementas’ sales for January through September rose by nine per cent to 876,000t of cement. Its cement sales for September fell by 13 per cent to 114,000t.
