HeidelbergCement Group, one of the major German investors in Romania, celebrates 10 years of operation in the Romanian market. The company is the leader of the cement, concrete and aggregates market in Romania, through its branches Carpatcement Holding, Carpat Beton and Carpat Agregate, the Nine O’Clock daily reports on Friday, when Germany celebrates its National Day.

’Romania is a very important pillar of HeidelbergCement Group, and one the most dynamic markets in Europe, due to the fast economic growth that reverberates in the cement demand as a result of the investment in infrastructure and constructions. Maintaining a leading position in a country with an active economy is the result of a steady 10 years effort. We are very proud of our Romanian team, which should be considered as a role model’, Andreas Kern, member of the Managing Board and CEO of HeidelbergCement of Central Europe & Central Asia told the daily.

HeidelbergCement Group made its first investment in Romania 10 years ago by buying the cement plant Moldocim S.A. Bicaz, followed by the acquisition of Casial Deva and Romcif Fieni cement plants. Carpatcement Holding S.A. was created in 2004 by the merger of the 3 cement plants, while the company management became totally local.
