Sibirsky Cement starts building RUB57bn plant in Ryazan Reg

Russian holding Sibirsky Cement has started building a RUB57bn cement plant in the Mikhailovsky District of the Ryazan Region, the regional government said Thursday.

The first stage of the plant is expected to be launched in 2011 and have a production capacity of 2.6 million tonnes of cement.

According to earlier reports, the plant is expected to produce 7.8Mt of cement per year after it is fully operational in 2014.

Founded in 2002, Sibirsky Cement, or Sibirskiy Cement, is based in the Kemerovo Region. The holding includes five cement plants in the Siberian Federal District.
