Production of cement of Bolivia increased 19,3 per cent between January and July 2008 when compared to same period in 2007. The figure represents an increase of 177.039t when compared to the Jan-July 2007 period.

According to the statistics institute, the expansion was driven by increased production in the plants located in La Paz, Oruro and Chuquisaca. During the period, production of cement in La Paz increased in 91.395t (+0.45 per cent) meaning 27.32 per cent of total production. Chuquisaca increased production in 49.431t (+0.45 per cent) or 25,57 per cent of domestic production.
