JK Lakshmi Cement has announced the commercial launch of its new ready-mix-concrete (RMC) plant at Dumad village near Vadodara. The RMC plant at Vadodara has an hourly capacity of 60m3.

Talking to DNA Money, Vinita Singhania, managing director of JK Lakshmi Cement, said, "The company has set up three RMC plants in Gujarat, each with an investment of Rs8-10 crore. With an investment of Rs100 crore, we are enhancing clinker capacity and installing of a split location grinding unit at Kalol, which would take raise capacity from the current 3.65Mt to 4.75Mt."

The company’s current investments in the state are valued at about Rs 125 crore. "We are in the process of strengthening of our presence in Gujarat. In fact, we plan to set up two more RMC plants in Gujarat in the near future. The cement capacity expansion would be completed by the end of December."
