Prices of ordinary portland cement with 32.5 strength degree averaged CNY 398 per ton, an increase of 2.1 per cent and price of ordinary Portland cement with 42.5 strength degree were CNY 448/t, up 1.8 per cent than the second half of July and 36.2 per cent over the same period of last year.
Local cement prices in Sichuan province are higher than other regions. The average price nationwide was CNY 345 per ton, 20.14 percent less than the price in Sichuan.
As the reconstruction after earthquake deepens, cement supplies in Sichuan would become tighter, adding pressure on cement producers for price increase.
