Italy Italcementi signs plant construction deal in Libya

Italcementi has signed a contract to build a cement plant in Libya with the Libyan Mining Company.
 
The contract was signed on August 20, 2008 and envisages the use of raw materials and the construction of a plant in the region of Tobruk, northeastern Libya, the Libyan company said in a statement without stating the value of the deal.
 
The cement factory will have an annual production capacity of 4Mt of cement and 500,000t of concrete.
 
China National Building Material (CNBM) signed at the end of May 2008 a EUR117m contract for the construction of a cement plant in Libya.
