Cement sales in Brazil rose 25.9% in July compared to the same month last year, to 4.82Mt, according to figures out Tuesday from the National Cement Industry Association (SNIC).
 
From January through July, domestic cement sales rose 16.5% to 28.769Mt on the same period in 2007.
 
In the 12 months through July, sales grew 15.1% to 48.799Mt.
 
SNIC expects domestic cement sales to grow by 12% in 2008 compared with 2007.
 
In June, cement sales in Brazil had increased 13.9% to 4.21Mt.
 
From January through June, domestic cement sales rose 14.8% to 23.951Mt.
 
In the 12 months through June, sales grew 13.7% to 47.8Mt.
