The Romanian unit of Holcim said its turnover rose by 20 per cent YoY in the first half of 2008, above the 10 per cent to 15 per cent forecast announced earlier in the year.
 
The company expects its turnover to grow at the same rate in the second half of 2008, CEO Markus Wirth said.
 
Holcim Romania closed 2007 with a net profit of 114.5m Romanian lei (US$50.93m), down 34.5 per cent on the year, on a turnover of 990m lei (US$440.32m), up 28 per cent on the year.
