Cessa investing US$25m to increase production capacity

El Salvadorian cement company Cessa will invest US$25m this year in its Maya 1600 expansion project, aimed at increasing production capacity to over 225,000t, local press reported.
 
Cessa is being advised by Holcim, which has a controlling stake in the company, in the implementation of the upgradesat its Metapán plant, in Santa Ana.
 
In addition to the production increase - scheduled to start in 2009 - the expansion project is expected to create 600-800 direct jobs.
