Meanwhile, Spanish cement maker Essentium announced its decision to invest EUR 400mn in two cement plants in the cities of Bilecik and Osmaniye, according to local daily Hurriyet . Construction of the plants will be initiated this year and the facilities are seen operational in 2011 with a total production capacity of 4Mta. Bilecik plant will target the Marmara Region, the most populated and industrialised region in Turkey, while Osmaniye facility will serve the Central Anatolian region as well as Syrian, Iraqi, and Russian markets, the daily reports.
