Cement firm Bolu Cimento to establish plant in Zonguldak

Bolu Cimento is to establish a cement grinding facility in the industrial zone in the city of Zonguldak in the Black Sea region. Bolu Cimento previously planned to establish the facility at the steel concern Eregli Demir Celik Fabrikalari’s premises with an investment of EUR 22.9mn but has now decided to change the location. In the statement issued to the Istanbul Stock Exchange, Bolu Cimento elaborates that it obtained 45,576 square meters of land in the organised industrial zone for the grinding facility.
 
Meanwhile, Spanish cement maker Essentium announced its decision to invest EUR 400mn in two cement plants in the cities of Bilecik and Osmaniye, according to local daily Hurriyet . Construction of the plants will be initiated this year and the facilities are seen operational in 2011 with a total production capacity of 4Mta. Bilecik plant will target the Marmara Region, the most populated and industrialised region in Turkey, while Osmaniye facility will serve the Central Anatolian region as well as Syrian, Iraqi, and Russian markets, the daily reports.
