Cement sales in Brazil rose 12.7% in May from the same month last year, to 4.167Mt, according to figures Thursday from the National Cement Industry Association (Snic).
 
There was also a 4% increase from April 2008.
 
Over January-May cement sales in Brazil rose 15% to 19.748Mt and in the 12 months to the end of May the figure was 47.304Mt, up 13.7% on the previous 12 months.
