Vietnam: seven more cement plants to enter operation

Seven more cement plants with a combined capacity of 7.81Mt will be put into operation across Vietnam  before the end of the year. The Cong Thanh cement plant in central Thanh Hoa province with a capacity of 0.91Mta was put into operation in May.

Meanwhile, the Luksvaxi cement plant’s fourth production line in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue also began operation. It has a capacity of 1.2Mta. The 2.3Mta Thang Long cement plant in northern Quang Ninh province is set to launch operations this month. The 350,000tpa Hoang Long cement plant in northern Ha Nam province and the 250,000tpa Tuyen Quang cement plant in northern Tuyen Quang province will begin operation in July. The Tay Ninh cement plant in southern Tay Ninh province and two production lines the Chinfon cement plant in northern Hai Phong, all with a capacity of 1.4Mta, are expected to be operational in October.

The building sector plans to complete construction of several cement plants in southern provinces in the first quarter of next year to help reduce transportation of cement and clinker from the north to the south.
