Russia: UralKhim to produce cement

UralKhim, which acquired a licence for the exploitation of a Sordino phosphate deposit in Russia, is now able to build a cement plant with an initial capacity of 1.5Mta. The company and applied to the Federal Antitrust Service for permission to buy 72 per cent of VMU, a fertiliser producer, to use its site for the construction of a cement production facility which will use secondary phosphate production products as a raw material.
