The 12th Refratechnik International Colloquium commenced this morning with over 670 guests registered from 76 countries. Wolfgang Tabbert managing director of Refratechnik Cement GmbH, started off proceedings in front of a packed conference hall, giving an insightful presentation entitled: ’Refratechnik in a globalising cement world’ which gave a detailed forecast of future world cement demand followed by an overview of the refractories sector, and how Refratechnik is positioned to meet future challenges such as rising raw material prices which is currently affecting the industry.
 
Delegates will be treated to a further 16 presentations over the next two days teamed with some excellent entertainment. International Cement Review is at this event and will provide a full report in its July 2008 issue.
