14 May 2008

Chinese cement maker Asia Cement (China) Holdings Corp said late Tuesday its plants in Sichuan were not seriously affected by Monday’s earthquake, and it expects operations to resume in the next few days. Asia Cement will list in Hong Kong on May 20.

The company said its Sichuan Yadong plant, which is located 70km from Wenchuan, the quake’s epicenter, suspended operations following a power outage.

The company said its Sichuan limestone quarry also stopped mining operations for inspections.
