Gebr Pfeiffer AG and its Indian subsidiary Gebr Pfeiffer AG (INDIA) Pvt Ltd have been appointed by Mumbai-based ACC Ltd, which belongs to the Holcim group, to supply an MPS 5600 B vertical roller mill for its new Chanda works, which will be set up in Chandrapur / Maharashtra.
 
The raw mill with an installed drive capacity of 5600kW will be capable of producing 560tph of raw meal ground to a fineness of 1.5 per cent R 212 microns.
 
This recent order follows a contract won a few months ago for the supply of an identical mill to be set up at ACC’s Wadi works. The satisfactory performance of an MPS 5600 B operating for more than seven years at Ambuja Cement’s Maratha works, also belonging to the HOLCIM group, was certainly a key factor in ACC’s buying decision. ACC is operating 4 MPS vertical roller mills in India for raw material and coal grinding. The order for an MPS 5600 BC roller mill for grinding granulated blastfurnace slag is currently being processed.
