Due to the booming market for cement in India, Jindal South West Group has decided to get into cement production with its subsidiary JSW Cement Ltd. by setting up 4.4Mta split located cement facilities.
The project includes a  6000tpd clinker production line with a 350tph cement mill at Panyam, Andra Pradesh, a 340tph slag grinding plant at Vidyanagar, Karnataka and a 85tph slag grinding plant at Salem, Tamil Nadu.

After a constructive dialogue and intensive negotiations between JSW, its consultant Holtec Consulting Ltd. and KHD, the client has chosen Humboldt Wedag India and Humboldt Wedag Germany, both member of KHD-Group for the complete project.

Jindal South West is a diversified company involved in the production of steel, aluminium, energy and in the near future also cement. With this move into cement production the client will be able to use the slag generated from its steel plant in Vidyanagar in Bellary district, Karnataka.

The contract comprises engineering, design and supply of mechanical and electrical equipment as well as supervision services for local manufacturing, erection and commissioning for the following production lines and its main equipment items:

The increased significance of this contract for KHD derives from the fact that the new grinding system COMFLEX®, developed and designed by the grinding specialists of Humboldt Wedag Germany, has been successfully launched in this project for a wide range of applications in a cement plant - for finish and semi-finish grinding of raw materials and clinker and slag.
