25 March 2008

The Krasnoyarsk Cement Plant, which is part of Russian holding Sibirskiy Cement (Siberian Cement), plans to double annual output to 2Mt after the launch of a new production line in 2009, the Krasnoyarsk Region government’s press service said Friday citing the plant’s Managing Director Vladimir Sakakun.

The current capacity of the plant amounts to 900,000tpa of cement.

The new line will be built using dry cement production technology, which will reduce average production costs by 20%, Skakun said, adding that the new technology would be more environmentally friendly.

Sibirskiy Cement includes five cement plants in the Siberian Federal District. The holding’s cement output amounted to 5.3Mt in 2007.
