Lafarge’s Greek unit, Heracles General Cement Company SA, said full year group net profits grew 11.4 per cent YoY to EUR67.8m, weighed down by EUR31.7m in investments.  
 
Heracles Cement said the investments were to improve productivity, health, safety levels and environmental performance in the companys facilities.  
 
Operating earnings rose 11.3 pct year on year to 134.8 mln eur. as reduced fixed industrial expenses offset significant increases in fuel costs, it added.  
 
Group sales fell 0.9 per cent from 2006 to EUR687.1m, while EBITDA came in flat at EUR152.1m.
