Turkish company plans new cement factory in Turkmenistan

Turkish company, Polimeks is to start designing and building a new cement plant in Jebel town,  Turkmenistan next month, according to local press reports. The plant will have the capacity to produce 1Mta of cement.  
 
Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov has signed a resolution allowing the project to go ahead and Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk State Concern will conclude a contract with Polimeks for EUR180m (US$273.61m). The plant will be commissioned in May 2011.
