China’s Sinoma wins US$1.6bn Nigeria cement EPC contract

Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd  said it signed equipment, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts covering seven cement production lines with four affiliates of Nigeria’s Dangote Industries Ltd.

The contracts have a combined value of US$1.6bn.

In a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Sinoma said the seven cement lines will each have daily capacity of 6000t and be completed within 3-5 years. Six of these production lines are located in Nigeria and the other is in Segegal, the company said.

In a separate statement, the company said it also signed another framework cooperation agreement with Dangote Industries to build six cement production lines for US$1.177bn. Four production lines with daily capacity of 6000t each will be located in Tanzania, Congo and Ethiopia, while the other two lines with daily capacity of 3000t each are to be located in Zambia and Equatorial Guinea, the company added.
