Brazil’s domestic cement sales rose 17.6% in January compared with the same month last year, to 4Mt, the National Cement Industry Union (Snic) said Thursday.  
 
This is a record volume for the first month of the year.  
 
In a statement, Snic said cement plants across the country had a good performance last month, especially in the South and Center-West, where sales increased 30.2% and 22.9% respectively.
