Brazilian company Votorantim Cimentos announced today the purchase of the American company Prairie, a leading company in the production of concrete in the region of the Great Lakes, with production of 5Mm3 of concrete.  
 
Votorantim plans to unify Prairie’s activities with the assets of its local subsidiary, Votorantim Cement North America (VCNA), operating the company in partnership with St. Marys Cement, Canada.
