Polish building materials prices to increase

Polish building materials’ experts forecast prices will gain between 7 and 10 per cent this year. Still, there should not be any such shocks as the 200-per cent growth in brick prices within three months witnessed last year, they predict.

Cement prices rose 19 per cent last year but Jan Deja, head of association of cement producers, claims that price speculation is unlikely as the wholesalers may be afraid of competitive imports. However, Lafarge Cement said that increases are inevitable due to rising energy and transport prices.
