16 January 2008

Heidelbergcement Ukraine, one of the largest cement producers, has decided to reorganise itself by way of takeover of three Kryvyi Rih Cement affiliates (Dnipropetrovsk region).

Ukrainian News learned this from the press service of Kryvyi Rih Cement company.

Specifically, Heidelbergcement Ukraine shareholders decided on December 9 to shut down Khersontsement (Kherson), Avtotsemtrans (Dniprodzerzhynsk) and Kryvbas Cement as legal entities.

Their functions will be folded into the organizational structure of Heidelbergcement Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Heidelbergcement (Germany) has a plan for 2008 to finish building the custom concrete plants in Luhansk and Odesa.

The company said that its enterprises produced and sold over 3.5 million tons of cement in 2006.

Heidelbergcement owns a 79.6% stake in Kryvyi Rih Cement, a company running cement plants in Kryvyi Rih and Dniprodzerzhynsk producing cement, clinker and face stone, and in Kryvbas Cement, an exclusive trade representative of cement plants of Heidelbergcement Group in Ukraine.

In December 2005, Heidelbergcement via its affiliate in the Netherlands CBR Portland BV purchased Dontsement from Ukraine Investment Company.
